Re: Galaxy S5 and Audi 3g MMI

As I now have a Galaxy S5 I can report that the native RSAP mode works perfectly with the Audi MMI3g (2012) head end unit, all contacts on the phone transferred. Just start your search for the new phone from the MMI end not the phone end.

Re: Galaxy S5

Hi,

Does anyone have the S5 working reliably in RSAP mode with the Audi 3G MMI (2012)? Either with no modification or with the rSAP app loaded?

Thanks for any replies.

Re: Galaxy S5 + Audi MMI 2G Connection Problems

>Tinpushers Sorry if there's any confusion here :-). The log you posted seemed to show an abrupt abort of the connection between the phone and the MMI during record transfer: 05-28 15:30:42.926 I/BluetoothRSAPClient( 5272): disconnected ... 05-28 15:30:42.936 E/BluetoothRSAPClient( 5272): java.io.IO...

Re: Galaxy S5 + Audi MMI 2G Connection Problems

Does the SAP spec then just imply that all memory on the SIM is transferred regardless of whether that memory contains valid records or not? The spec seem vague to say the least (or at least the one I've looked at does!) but usually a 'get next record function' as I understand it would return a null...

Re: Galaxy S5 + Audi MMI 2G Connection Problems

Thanks for your reply, I noticed the huge fields that were being returned but wasn't sure what they related to, In response to your suggestions, I limited the S5 to only display contacts stored on the sim (I have copied 1 across for test purposes). I reset the MMI to defaults and re-paired. The sam...

Re: version 4.4.2 (kitkat)

Do you mean rSAP logs, the large hex strings? PBAP transfers only readable data (except pictures). rSAP is not influenced by anything that my phonebook app does, at least there is no logical connection between rSAP and PBAP. Sorry, I wasn't clear there. Yes, the 250 or so byte blank 'FF' fields tha...

version 4.4.2 (kitkat)

I don’t know if my app will work better. It uses the same software parts as the Samsung rSAP to access the SIM card, so chances are low that it does better. You cannot install the necessary system files for my app without root or at least a custom recovery software. If it was possible it would be a...

Re: Galaxy S5 + Audi MMI 2G Connection Problems

Hi, I' haven't been through decoding the logs to the RSAP protocol but one obvious difference is that the S5 is returning hugely bigger fields (for phonebook entries I think) whereas the S3 is returning SIM storage sized ones. This may be causing some kind of overflow in the head end and the socket ...

Re: S3 new firmware released, rsap included

It does not show up anywhere because there are no settings. Only when you connect to an rSAP capable device you get the permission dialog once and the notification icon while the connection is active. Do I need to upair and re-pair it then? I'm assuming the permission dialog is on the S3 - I haven'...
