Xiaomi Redmi 2 flash radio modem

Post by mondorescue » Mon Oct 05, 2015 9:53 pm

Hi,

i am an owner of a xiaomi redmi 2 and rsap is not working for me.
It seems that i have the same problem as google nexus 5.

My cpu is a snapdragon 410 and my radio version is KTU84Q.
So i think that rsap is blocked with this version.

Now i wanna flash another version of this modem.
Can i use the modem version on xda article "[MODEM] [EFS] Nexus 5 Flashable Modems and EFS Backup"?
Everybody there is talking about EFS, but the modem image is only one file in the zip file.
Can i flash these modem.img files via fastboot flash radio <radio-image.img>?
Could it brick my phone? Or can i reinstall my old original radio image?
The scripts from xda is not working for me. The modem block devices are located in another directory.

I hope that someone can help me.

Thanks
Regards
Timm

Don't flash a radio software which is not made exactly for your phone!

It may brick your phone! You may only try to find older or newer versions of the radio software and check them. Since the radio software is rarely updated it may be that there is only exactly one version for your phone.

So it could be that i can't flash my old modem back?

I hoped that it will be the same. Because of the same Version Name.
Isn't the modem Software closed source? So that the
Mobile manufacturer can't modify it?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't try without prior research, e.g. look at XDA if someone succeeded flashing a different phone's baseband.

The baseband software is closed source. Maybe the phone makers get the source code to adapt it to their hardware, maybe they only get precompiled libraries, I don't know.
