Star X15i china android phone

Post by ivan_oleynik » Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:57 pm

Hello,

I have Skoda Octavia A5 2008 + Bluetooth kit 1Z0 035 729. Previously it worked with Sony Ericsson 530i and it was ok with reading the phone book. Now I have Star X15i china phone, Android version 2.3.6 and have a problem with transferring phone book into bluetooth car kit.

I have tried to install the Bluetooth.apk and still not able to get the phone book into the car kit.

After the Bluetooth.apk installation the phone has rebooted ok and I see the Bluetooth Share app in the list of currently running app in the system. Also there are two services which were started by it BluetoothOppService and BluetoothPbapService. But in the All tab there are two bluetooth application installed. "Bluetooth" 2.3.6 36Kb and "Bluetooth Share" 2.3.7 212Kb and If I sopping BluetoothPbapService the phone continues working as it worked before (no phone book transferring, nothing different) So the question is: Is Bluetooth.apk was installed correctly or not? What should I do to check it?

Another question is what can cause the app not to transfer phone book. Different phone type? Different way to access phone book from the phone? If so would it be better to allow app to read the contacts info from the file which can be prepared by user. I think such implementation will cover all the android phones even if it is not supported now.

So could you lead me to check correct installation and find the problem in transferring phone book.
I can provide you with logs or any other information.

Thank you in advance.

It looks like the Bluetooth 2.3.6 clashes with the Bluetooth Share 2.3.7. There must be some other apk or odex in /system/app. Does it have the same icon?

Thanks for the fast reply.
Here are several screenshots:

There are no obex file (I have moved it to SD card)
The icons not actually the same.

Should I remove Bluetooth 2.3.6 somehow?

It is not easy to tell from a distance. Perhaps your phone does not use Bluetooth.apk at all, like HTC and Samsung phones with stock ROMs. If you backup everything you may experiment...

I have already created backup.

What I found is that there was another bluetooth application MtkBt.apk and MtkBt.obex. I tried to move these files via Root Explorer and the warning message appeared that the blutooth application suddenly stopped. I rebooted the phone added your Bluetooth.apk to system/app rebooted again but still have no effect. No transferring phone book and also if to stop bluetooth app it continues working as before...

Any idea what to try more?

No idea, sorry. It seems your phone does not use the standard AOSP Bluetooth stuff so Bluetooth.apk will not help you. Is there an AOSP based ROM like CyanogenMod available for your phone?

Seems like there is no such ROM. So the topic may be closed due to there is no way to get it work with Bluetooth.apk
Thank you that you have spend time on me.
