Why isn't the Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 supported?

Hi, I try to connect my S5360 to a Mercedes module but there is no voice transfer, means everthing works fine beside the fact that I neither could hear anything nor that the micro is activated.

Is the Y something special because it is not foreseen for this rSAP app?

I'm not sure if you need rSAP at all. Do you have the Mercedes Benz SAP module?

A general explanation why some Samsung phones are compatible and some are not:

The Samsung phones differ very much although they have very similar names. As an example see what Samsung sells as "Galaxy S II": http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsun ... _S_II:_FAQ

rSAP support is always a question of radio/baseband software and the interface to radio(RIL). So far I detected 3 different phone groups:

1. Phones supporting rSAP in stock ROM (at least 2.3) and the Nexus phones
2. Phones having Samsung RIL lib but don't support rSAP functions (e.g. Galaxy Ace)
3. Phones having non-Samsung RIL lib (no /system/lib/libsec-ril.so)

As far as I remember the Galaxy Y belonged to group 3.

Thanks for your answer...

Well I checked this and you are right, the phone belongs to group 3.

Although it is not mandatory to have a the rSAP profile I hopped that it fixed my connection problem with my Mercedes.
The problem is that a normal connection is able, I have remote control to my device, can import contacts... but the most important is not possible audio connection. When I dial a number a connection is established but there is neither incoming or outgoing audio, means speaker and microphone is not used although connected.
Mercedes told me that there is a general problem with all Samsung devices and Samsung itself confirmed the same. Furthermore VW and Ford is concerned by the bluetooth problem.
Neither the car manufactor nor Samsung is working on a solution so I tried to find one by my own. By now without success. I edited the audio.conf and changed a lot of parameters but the behaviour remains still the same. Even if I delete the audio.conf file the system shows no behaviour change.

So if rSAP does not work on my phone... I haven't any further idea to solve the issue.... do you have a hint for me?

You may try an AOSP based custom ROM like CyanogenMod (if one exists for the Galaxy Y). The Bluetooth stack is completely different to Samsung ROMs (except SGS II ICS, which is based on AOSP) so at least your phone will behave differently! If you are lucky it fixes your problem...

Well, I checked for some custom roms but without success. I guess I have to get rid of this lousy device.... able to do nearly everthing beside telephony.....

So I just scratched it and it is for sale now.....

Thanks and a great project from your side to build this downloadable profile!
