rSAP works with 3C8035730B but not with the latest 3C803573D

Hello Admin,

I bought a new Premium module for my VW, the one that includes Wifi built-in, and my Galaxy S4 doesn't seem to like it very much.

Everything works as expected with the old module, but I get constant connection drops with the new one. This happened with the stock ROM, so I tried the Cyanogenmod 11 and your rSAP and Phonebook apps.

With the stock ROM, the phone connects for a few seconds, then the connection is dropped, and it never connects again.
With rSAP and the phonebook app, the phone connects for a few seconds, then disconnects, and then connects again, and so on indefinitely.

I managed to grab the logs from the system, and also from all your apps using the HCI logger, I sent them to you via private message.

BTW, I still have the old VW bluetooth module, so I can still get logs from it as a comparison. Also, can I use wireshark as is to take a look at the .cap files, or do I need some plugin or something?

Best regards

This is a strange error: the car phone tries to write 255 bytes to a SIM file, and the Samsung firmware returns an error code. I've never seen something like that, but I also cannot remember I ever saw a write request for 255 bytes - this is the maximum number of bytes that can be written in a single request. Maybe there is a bug in the Samsung radio software?

The file that causes the trouble on your SIM card has a size of 256 bytes. I checked some other logs I have and the same file is usually smaller than 256 bytes. The specified minimum size is 46 bytes. Chances are high that a different SIM card will work.

Why did it work with the older version? I don't know. Maybe the older Premium wrote only the changed bytes instead of rewriting the whole file? I could find out with a log file created with the old version. But the answer wouldn't help you anyway...

You only need the standard installation of WireShark to open the .cap files. Maybe you have to tweak the Bluetooth RFCOMM settings to get a proper disassembly of the different profiles. In your special case the .txt log file is sufficient to find out what goes wrong.

Is it possible that my new VW Module is faulty?

What file exactly are you talking about?

The problem is caused by the phone. It may work with a different SIM card.

All rSAP communication is logged in the "main" log text file. The HCI log is helpful when there are basic Bluetooth problems.

Do you still have the problem? It seems there are more people affected by this issue, I can try to create a plugin to fix it.

Hi,

Yes, I still do. I contacted my service provider, and they sent me a new SIM card, but unfortunately I have the same issue with the new one :(

A fix would be awesome. If I can help you with anything, please tell.

Thanks,
Regards

Ok, the plugin seems to work correctly, but after a few days of trial, I found out that the phone never gets network signal after being connected to the car. The only way is to restart the phone.

Don't know if its related though...

I don't think this is related to your other problem, it is a quite frequent problem, please try this: viewtopic.php?f=62&t=1115.

I hope my plugin mechanism is stable enough to handle 2 plugins ;)

Great, it works :)

You sure deserve a donation for your extra work on this.

Thanks a lot.
