Nexus 5 with new audi A3 with MMI+ and connect

Post by prein » Sat Mar 08, 2014 1:34 pm

Today I received my brand new audi A3 with MMI+ navigation and audi connect.
however, I am unable to connect with RSAP.

what I did:

- install rsap install files, reboot
- install rsap full version
- start rsap full version
- enable rsap in app
- make phone recoverable in rsap-app
- search for devices in my audi
- select nexus 5
- wait, accept etc.

It seems to connect with normal bluetooth operation, so no internet in the car and my phone stays connected to the network.

what am I doing wrong?

yes, my phone is rooted and I am using the latest stock android version (4.4.2)

Does my app show an error? If no, please create a HCI log either with my logger app or from within the developer menu and mail it to admin at...

I don't know why it doesn't work for you. rSAP is properly announced to your car, but it doesn't access it. Maybe you paired your phone before installing my app and the car saves what it found during initial pairing? A fresh pairing may help. Or maybe you can switch the phone mode somewhere?

I am starting to doubt the possibility of rsap for the newest mmi+ incl connect systems.

- I have read a lot about phone capabilities, but when i put my sim card in the car, i can't phone, only use data.
- rsap doesnt work on nexus 5 and sensation. Will try a sgs3 next week
- information about rsap is not in my manual, information about rsap is present on the website, although hard to find.

This seems to me that it used to be present, but is not anymore. The information that is still on the website is obsolete and my dealer has also misinformed me.

When i have more info, i will report...

In the German configurator they don't mention rSAP with the "connect" option. Instead Audi offers the "phone box" to help with receiption problems.

Indeed it looks like there is no rSAP available in the A3. In the A4/A6 options there is "Audi connect including car phone". It is very hard to understand all those different Audi phone options!

It's a shame that a free SIM card is not included when the "connect" option with all necessary other options totals 4000€

I had a similar problem with my s3 and had even changed from iPhone to Samsung before I got the car. My local audi garage researched the problem and called me yesterday to confirm that Audi removed the RSAP function from the latest a3 as they believed it wasnt being used.they also failed to tell the dealers (in the uk).
