Android rSAP issues with last CM11 nightlies.

Post by John_Matrix » Tue Jan 28, 2014 11:05 am

Dear admin,

It seems that Android rSAP is not working anymore with the last nightlies of CM11.
Indeed, the car kit do the connection only in handsfree.
In the changelog, it appears that the team have done some modifications in the Bluetooth stack.

Have you the possibility to confirm this?

Many thanks in advance!

PS: For my SMS problem (not recorded in the right contact feed), do you think the Bluetooth module in the car can be too old (5N0 035 730 D) and can be solved with a more recent? (what are the reference of yours?)

Some users have reported problems with recent CM11 nightlies, but I cannot reproduce them on any phone. Did you install an OTA to get the latest nightly or did you do a full install? Can you please mail a "main" log to admin at...?

The SMS in the wrong thread is most probably a bug in my plugin, not something in the Premium box. It's just that I nearly never use SMS myself, so my motivation to find the bug is only slightly above zero...

I've used the CyanogenMod Updater located in the "About phone" section of CM11 ;)
I will try to make a "main log" and send it to you.
Do I need to attempt to connect to the car kit or do I need only to disable/enable the Bluetooth?

It would be enough if you simply start and immediately stop the log. I'm interested in the status logs of my app.

I finally found out what goes wrong. In the past the BlueZ stack had a utility called 'sdptool'. This was used by my app to create a proper SDP record. Starting with Android 4.2 the BlueZ stack was no longer used and the sdptool is no longer available, but it somehow found it's way back to the CyanogenMod ROM! Of course it doesn't work without the BlueZ stack

Now my app finds sdptool, thinks the phone has a BlueZ stack, calls sdptool and freezes.

There are two things you can do to avoid this problem: either deny Superuser access for the rSAP app. That's what I always do, that's why it took me so long to find out what's going wrong. Superuser is no longer needed in the recent app versions, it is still needed for the old native HTC system files.

The other option is to rename or remove /system/bin/sdptool. Since it doesn't work anyway it shouldn't make a difference.

I'll try to avoid this problem in the next version.

Hello Admin,
Thanks a lot!
You are absolutely right, Android rSAP App have full root access on my phone.
I've removed this authorization and I will report back soon the situation ;)

Hi.

Great analytic job!
Deny root access works also for me, my Galaxy S2 and CM11 with my VW RNS 510.
