MB A2048200535 and Samsung Galaxy S5 problems

Post by MarMilo » Mon Mar 16, 2015 10:05 pm

Hi All,
apologize for my 'polish-english', but I hope you will understand my questions.

I have MB BT module (type A2048200535) installed in W221 S-class.

Tried many times to connect SG5 phone and still have the same issue.
1. phone was find as BT device (authorized and available) in Comand (System - Devices)
2. phone and MB Mobile were paired (I entered 14digits password on the phone)
3. MB asked for direct access to SIM (confirmed on the phone)
4. phone was unavailable in GSM/LTE network as SIM is remotely controlled (proper behavior)
5. On Command I see phone, but bar representing coverage is empty - when I tried to made call got message "Invalid telephone number".
In my opinion SG5 not give full access to SIM /services for MB module.
What I can do to use MB mobile and my SG5 ?

I tried same procedure with SG3 and it worked fine (phone was fully controlled by MB Mobile). The problem is with SG5.

I did also:
1. set mobile operator just for GSM network type - didn't solved issue
2. changed SIM card (still the same operator T-Mobile) - didn't solved issue
3. when I insert SIM into MB Mobile module it works properly (but I need to set off my mobile, copy contacts to SIM (short names, one number only).

Any help will be appreciate.

Will rSAP software help (I prefer do not root the phone until be sure that MB will be paired and work with SG5 - warranty of phone stops me).

Thank you,
Regards,
Mariusz

Maybe it's a SIM card issue. Did you use the same SIM card as with the SGS3?

Difference between phones is: SG5 is LTE, SG3 isn't.
I ordered new SIM two times for SG5.
Will try tomorrow to replace SIM from SG3 and put it to my SG5.
I think it is hardware (phone) issue :(
May I collect any logs to share with you for help ?

Thank you,
Mariusz

It's either simply in the root of the "SD card" or somewhere below 'Android', as far as I remember. Anyway, the file's name is 'btsnoop_hci.log'.

ADMIN - thank you for support. Tomorrow will do some tries in my car and will upload a log file (when find it  ).
Regards,
Mariusz
EDIT (23.03.2015)
I attached logs from SG5 collected today.
SG5 had MB Telephone added in BT devices with SIM access active
SG5 had UHI-SN (merc BT system) added in BT devices.
In MB System -> Devices -> my phone (MarioSG5) Authorized and Available.
After BT was activated on SG5 message about remote access to SIM appeared.
There were no calls possible directly from phone - "not registered in network"
There were no calls possible from MB Comand - first coverage pars were empty, second every number I tried to dial (e.g. 602900000 or 606xxxyy4) I received message "Invalid telephone number" (radio wasn't muted).
When I inserted SIM card into cradle it registered in TMobile network (full coverage bars) and I was able to made calls from Comand.

Admin - please check logs and help me to solve issue with SG5.

Thank you,
Mariusz

I can't see a reason why it doesn't work. The communication with the SIM card works, the SAP adapter checks the key, transfers SMS and other data and finally goes into the usual idle mode.

Did you try the same card which works in the S3, or is it no longer valid?

Will do this tomorrow (first will try to open BT connection from SG3 to MB Telephone with SIM card from SG5).
Today I connected SG3 successfully only when activated BT on it and seen full coverage bar on Comand, had access to contact on SG3's SIM, made two test calls in/out - worked as should.
After that tried the same with SG5 - no luck - no coverage bar, no access to SIM contacts. In SG5 device MS Telephone is added as trusted. One thing ! On SG5 I have MS Exchange corporate account which forces me to set special security profiles (I have to set PIN to access the phone, etc) - will do full backup of SG5 and during change of SIM from SG3 will also remove corporate scripts from my device.
Will let you know.
Thank you for interests !
