Installation on wildfire s with softroot possible?

Post by ralleycorse » Fri Jan 04, 2013 6:47 pm

Hi there,

ich have a wildfire s (Software 2.26.161.1) bootloader unlocked . I want to install the Software with the softroot via ZergRush. I get: Installation failed. Mount failed null.

What is the Problem? Do i need a permanent root?

thanks,

I'm not sure what "softroot" means. Is it only a temporary root shell? I guess you don't have Superuser or SuperSU installed? Perhaps you can install the system files manually, but the Installer App needs a "properly" rooted phone where it is able to run "su".

zergRush should do it on a wildfire...

I found an explanation (in German: http://www.droidwiki.de/HTC_Wildfire_S/SoftRoot) and it looks like it should be possible to install the rSAP system files with a "softrooted" device. Be sure to copy/install 'su' and the 'Superuser.apk'.

When you run the installer app you should get the Superuser question, and everything should work. If it doesn't please create a log with CatLog or ALogcat and mail it to me.

Thanks. But this is the way which didn't work. Obviously zergRush don't work with Android 2.3.5...
i guess that's it for me. :(
For a complete andriod newbee it is to risky to make the long way and flash a custom recovery, ROM, etc without experience.

Nevertheless thanks,

The easiest way to root your phone seems to be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=1809751.
Of course, if you don't feel comfortable with it, don't do it.
