no pairing with premium Kit (Sharan 2011)

Post by riker187 » Sat Oct 15, 2011 12:51 pm

Hi,

i just get my new VW Sharan an want to connect with my SGS2 (CyanogenMod Nightly #82, BT works with my old carkit). After it failed and after a little bit of Google i found this great stuff and installed. It installes pretty fine (status told my everything is all right) but i am not able to connect to the carkit (neither i am with my iPhone 3gs IOS5).

Any Ideas? Could it be a issue with the carkit?

thanks end regards, Jens

What exactly is not working? Car does not recognize the phone? You did set your phone visible in Bluetooth settings?

I heard from another user that he had Bluetooth problems with all CM nightly builds after the 7.1 release. Perhaps you try with this?

Hi,

thanks for the answer. BT doesn´t work with CM Nightlies until #78. Then it was fixed and the stable coms out. After that it works with my previous carkit (no rSAP, only Handsfree).

Now i set the SGS2 visible, the car finds it, is start pairing, enter the PIN and that was it. Car said that is was not possible to pair. I attached logs from your app. Maybe you can see somthing...

I deleted the log file after downloading. It may contain phone numbers etc.

I'll let you know when I find something!

shame on me.... there where 4 blocks of 4-digit-codes on the carkit and i thought i can choose one of them to pair. But i had to enter all 16 digits.

Now it works perfect :)

Greate work!

That explains why Bluetooth communication in the log stops after the pin response ;)

unfortunately .... there are still issues....

1) After connecting to the phone it stays only a little time connected. The the connection gets lost and i have to reconnect....

2) when it is connected and SIM is "borrowed" to the carkit, how am i able to user the dataconnection from the phone?

Are there workarounds for this?

best regards, Jens

Is it disconnecting as soon as the screen goes off? That's already known. I have a fix for it but not yet in the published versions (see viewtopic.php?f=32&t=170). Must be some issue with power management.

The second point is "by design". The phone cannot access the SIM card while rSAP is active, so no mobile data connection is possible. Newer Volkswagen/Skoda phones offer a Bluetooth modem (DUN profile) that could be used by the phone to access the internet. But I could not yet manage to get that working on the phone. Perhaps there is some Linux hacker out there who can make it work...?
