I9100G - should I stay or should I go ?

Post by pfrom » Tue Feb 14, 2012 10:49 am

Hi,

I have the I9100G and a passat CC with premium phone car system.

my official i9100G supports the RSAP and connects to the car. The pain is it keeps disconnecting all the time.

My question is can I install this application with no risk ? I read that I should not install this app on a device that supports RSAP out of the box. But in my case, it does not work.

So can I do it ?? what do you rcommend ?

I did not explicitly test what happens but you will end up with two rSAP servers on your phone. I don't know which one will be used by the car. Perhaps this even changes every time? But you cannot break anything. If it does not work simply uninstall the system files and the app and everything is like before.

You will at least have to root your phone to try.

I would recommend to try CyanogenMod, but it is a bit complicated to return back to the original Samsung ROM in case you don't like it.

When you think about updating to Android 4 you will need this App anyway.
It will suprise me if Android 4 will support rSAP out of the box.

Try Custom AndyX Rom V6, great stuff and works fine with rSAP for Android.

I tried it

It fails on my i9100G . it does not recognize the phone. I got a red message saying "are you on htc or samsung phone ?" or something close.

I aslo tried to test Bluetooth.apk you did with no sucess.in system/app I only copy the file. I did not find Bluetooth.odex, so nothing to delete. after reboot error message.
I wonder if bluetoothPbab.apk would be better candidates to be replaced ? what do you think ?

No they are not, I removed bluetoothPbab.apk and .odex . I copy yours , rename it to bluetoothPbab.apk, set the rights to 644 and error after reboot :?

I will put the original file back
