Hello,
I'm glad to tell you, that in my case the rSAP connection with your installer and APP works without problems between my SGS2 Android ICS 4.0.3: "I9100XWLP7" and the MMI 2G.

But I still have the PBAP problem, or even worse, I don't get no contacts at all. Since this is another thing, I'll continue HERE:

Native rSAP is gone with ICS
Phone: Sony Xperia Z (C6603), rooted, firmware 10.3.A.0.423
Carkit: VW Premium 2012 (HFP and rSAP)

I have SGS2 with ICS (official Samsung firmware), but not rooted. Can I use the rSAP app? (I bought this app).
Because I use this phone for business, I dont like to "mess around" with rooting.

I need to have rSAP because my Volkswagen RNS510 uses it. And as far that Samsung removed the rSAP option, I cant connect my phone right now.

Edwin

Sorry, does not work without root and it will never work completely without root, unless Samsung helps me...

But I'm planning a version that only needs root for installation and I hope I can find an installation procedure that leaves the system as it is, except some small changes. But this will take some time.

Until then you can try this plugin: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=191&p=1066#p1013. It should automatically switch airplane mode on and off after disconnect from car.
Hi Admin,

I sent you those logs few days ago (April 24).

Hope it helps....

Sorry, I got a bit confused with the disconnect problem. There is a new topic with a better name over there: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=353.

Can you please try the installer test version available there and report back in that topic?

Hi admin,

I would be very thankful if you managed to make a version without root. It's not that I don't want to root the phone, but it's a business phone so not my own. And I don't want to "mess it up".

I contacted Samsung and they removed rSAP because Google itself removed it from ICS. Samsung will not correct this problem. Therefor I think it will be a big oportunity for you, if you managed to get a version without root. This because all Samsung ICS users with rSAP carkit needs this option. And without root is more for the "simple" users :)

Edwin

I guess many of you like to see a solution to that problem. I created a new topic for discussion: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=365

BTW: rSAP was never part of Android. Samsung removed rSAP by removing the Broadcomm Bluetooth stack they used with Android 2.x. And then they did not care to implement their own rSAP.

Hi

I have read through the forum and the understand that a lot of VW car kits require rSAP but I can't find any information on whether Honda car kits require the same.
I am assuming they do as my Honda factory fitted car kit worked perfectly with my S2 before the upgrade to ICS 4.0.3 but now refuses to reconnect after the inital pairing.
Does anyone have any information on whether this rSAP that is causing the problem, as I don't mind rooting my phone and buying the app if it fixes the problem, but not if it doesn't cure it.

Thanks

James
