transfer telefonebook (ICS - XXLPQ)

Post by meuselmedia » Fri Mar 23, 2012 10:26 am

I have problems with loading the telefonebook from my sgs2 to the hans-free car-station (Volkswagen premium station).

1. The station is connecting my phone,
2. then the phone asks for permission to let the station access the phone
3. and after i confirmed the access
4. in my phone display appers a dialog box "the permission is canceled" only with a button "ok"
5. my car station is abording the transfer.

Only the SIM Contacs are working with the transfer.

Could you help me?
Thanks,
Stephan

The phone aborts the connection? Strange. I remember that the first transmission after pairing always (?) aborts, but with a message in the car display. I'll check the Android sources if I can find a reason for the message on the phone.

Until then you may try the "usual procedure": remove pairing and try again.

Thanks for your help.
I will try some "new setups" of the phone in the car module. Maybe it will help :-)

Hi meuselmedia,

I can confirm that the address book transfer was successful for me with a RNS510 with premium Bluetooth.
Just checking, but have you replaced the stock Bluetooth.apk with the one provided here viewtopic.php?f=33&t=221 ?

Later edit: I used the LP7 ROM.

@admin: is the bluetooth.apk from your post from Nov. 2011 compatible with the [Official ICS] XXLPQ (4.0.3) - Europe (XEO)?

I tested the Android 4 build of Bluetooth.apk with a XXLPQ ROM and it worked.

Maybe. Older Premium kits don't support Phone Book Access Protocol (PBAP). But if you got the request for phonebook access on the phone it uses PBAP.

The behavior reminds me of a bug in the Android 2.3 version, but I thought it was fixed for 4.0. Can you send me a "main" log of the connection attempt? Please switch off "rsap" filter. Even better would be an additional "HCI" log, but you will need the "hcitool" from this post: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=248&p=1051#p1051. Copy it to /system/xbin with Root Explorer or similar.

The log files are located in folder ".rsap" on SD/USB storage.
