rsap and PIN-Lock

Post by SCJO1973 » Sat Jun 09, 2012 10:46 pm

I have installed the RSAP on my rooted Galaxy S2 GT-I9100.
Wenn i disable the Pin-Lock from Sim Card, it work´s fine with my Golf 6 (2009).
Is this normaly?

(Sorry my english, i am from austria :D)

It does not work when you enable PIN lock? The car should ask you for the PIN and store it if you agree.

Can you please create a "main" log of a failed PIN entry and send it to my email address?

Received your logs.

It looks like you have a rather old SIM card. Then I observed that the car phone asks for the emergency call numbers and gets an error back. That seems to abort the communication long before the PIN is transferred. If you ask your provider for a new SIM card it may help.

Don't ask me why it works when you disable the PIN... :?

I need to explain a bit. There are two operation modes for SIM cards: GSM mode is the older mode, and there is the newer USIM mode which is necessary for 3G networks (as far as I understood...).

The VW Premium normally "talks" USIM to the card. Only when the card does not accept this, it falls back to GSM mode. This is what happens with your card. Normally this works fine, but in your case the card does not support a basic file (emergency numbers) that usually exist on a SIM card. This seems to trip up the Premium phone. That's why I asked how old your card is. Can you access 3G mobile network with this card in your phone?

I think I cannot change anything. You will have to keep the SIM PIN off for rSAP to work. It looks like the Premium phone accepts the fact that the file is missing when SIM PIN is off. As I said: don't ask me why...

It seems I still don't understand much in this whole GSM topic. I was quite sure this must be an old SIM card and it would not support 3G networks. So I don't understand what is happening with your card. Sorry.

If you happen to know how to create logs of the rSAP communication on the Bada phone, I'd be very interested...
