PBAP with android 4.0.4

Post by gus8313 » Mon Jul 23, 2012 10:13 am

Hello,
I have updated my HTC HD2 to Android 4.0.4 (I previously had Android 2.3.7).
rsap work perfectly but my phone book is no more exchanged with my car: The HD2 receives the phone book transfert request (phone book requester pops up on the phone) but no contacts is exchanged.
I changed the original Bluetooth.apk to yours following your tutorial but it did not solve my issue.
Can you help me?
Thanks

If the whole phonebook is missing something basic must go wrong. Did you use my Bluetooth.apk before with 2.3.7? Did you use the correct Bluetooth.apk for Android 4.x?

Perhaps Bluetooth.apk crashes after boot for some reason. Try to create a log directly after boot with an app like aLogcat or CatLog.

The whole phonebook is missing.
I have used your Bluetooh.apk with 2.3.7 and it was perfect.
When I switched to Android 4, I took the Bluetooh.apk for Android 4 on the forum.
I will try to make a log and have a look on it.
Thanks for you support (and rsap of course!)

It looks like there is something wrong with Bluetooth in general. Does rSAP work?

The HD2 ROM are notorious for their Bluetooth problems :(

Yes rsap works, only pbap is not working.
I made a new log when trying to synchonize the phonebook and i saw this:
BluetoothPbapObexServer( 1185): Not support access SIM card info
Do you have an idea of the problem?
Thanks

Strange. I don't have an idea what may go wrong. Perhaps you should start all over again, reinstall the ROM, redo the pairing without exchanging Bluetooth.apk. Replace it only when you have problems with single missing entries. If the whole phonebook is missing there must be another problem.

Hello again! Seeing that rSAP is back in the Galaxy II 4.0.4 ROM. If I upgrade my phone, is it possible to still use the PBAP? :?:
rSAP and your PBAP work superbly together and it feels quite unnecessary to do an upgrade, but I can always return to your rSAP if an upgrade feels bad. :D

Warm Regards

Samsung rSAP does not work with my Bluetooth.apk because Samsung added some rSAP code in their Bluetooth.apk. If you replace the Samsung Bluetooth.apk, Samsung rSAP is broken :(

Thank you!

I'll keep your solution for the RSAP and ignore any upgrade. I keep in touch with your website and check out what you find out in the future.

Thanks for a great job!
