Doesn't work with galaxy S3

Post by jocafonso » Wed Aug 01, 2012 6:18 am

Hello,

I´ve been working with my passat rns mfd navigation from 2007, always without problems with nokia phones and even some samsung ones. I got recentlly a galaxy s3 and I installed your rsap app. Until here is ok, but there is no solution for phone book transfer to this model as you know it; Even with the last bluetooth.apk.
My question is: do you think that you'll have a solution for this in a short time?
Thank you very much

2007 Premium phone may not support Phone Book Access Protocol, so the Bluetooth.apk will not make any difference. Look for an app that implements IrMC. Currently I don't know any, but perhaps someone releases one. If I had any time left...

Hello. Thanks for your fast response.
I think yes, it supports phone book adress cause I had already all my contacts in car agenda with my nokias and with my old samsung! Also it has the option to transfer phone contacts and/or sim contacts to the car memory book phones!
Thank you

The Nokias support IrMC, I'm not sure about old Samsungs. Did you get a notification about phonebook access on the S3? In case of doubt remove the pairing from car and phone and try again. Watch the phone for the notification.

No, nothing at all in S3. No notifications. I've paired and unpaired several times. Also I've install and unistall your software some times...
Thank you

If you create a HCI log (install 'hcidump' with rSAP installer) and mail it to me I can have a look if the car asks for PBAP.

Sorry, your mail went into the spam folder. Don't know why.

I could not find a search for the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) so your Premium car phone does not seem to support it. So the Bluetooth.apk does not help. You'd need an app for IrMC transfer but I don't know any for Android. Do SIM contacts work?

thank you very much for your answer.
No, even SIM contacts are not transfered.
I´m very sad. Do you think there is any solution?
Thank you very much in advance for helping me

Perhaps someone will create an app for IrMC. I'd do it but I currently don't have time.
