It seems to be ok now. Don't know why, but now all contacts with phonenumber are in the "premium phonebook". Perhaps because of reboot, but I did it as well after installation. Well thanks a lot! I'm glad about the way it is!

I'll think the rSAP-thing!

regards!

Hi,
well, now a few days testing vw premium with GN 4.2.1 and Phonebook-App a can say, it still does not work proper... this are my problems, and perhaps anybody could tell, where my problem is located...

- phonebook is not complet every time I am connected to premium - sometimes same problem as before, that contacts with email-adress or other aspects added are not going to be provided to premium - the reason herefor might be, that the phonebook-App does not start???? Because, when rebooting phone first no contact is going to be transmitted ("phonebook incomplete" is the answer). But if I update the phonebook via premium ("actualise") all contacts are going to be transmitted - means suddenly phonebook-app is working!

Has anybody ansers?:
- Why does phonebook-app not start automatically everytime when connected?
- Why sometimes not one contact is going be transmitted - phonebook empty?
- Why does it start when "actualising contacts via premium
- Why does premium need to load all contacts every single time of connection and does not save contacts in his one memory? - i.e. Parrot bluetooth hands free phone stations do save contacts in their memory and just actualise them if original phonebook has changed...

other question:
- Does SMS-feature and calling-lists work if rSAP is installed - does rSAP has anything to do with that kind of features?

Do I have a firm ware problem on my GN? Has anybody a serius recommandation for android 4.3 for GN I9250?

thanks - regards!

As far as I remember Android 4.2 had a lot of flaws in it's Bluetooth stack, but I don't remember if all problems you list may be explained by them. Is it possible to flash a factory image (https: //developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=de#yakju) on your phone? If not, I found info in the Internet that it may be necessary to unlock the bootloader before flashing the factory image.

A short explanation about PBAP: The car always has to query all contacts from the phone because there is no mechanism by which it can find out if there are new or modified entries. This was once possible in the full blown IrMC profile and was (luckily) dropped in PBAP. After all even a few thousand contacts only take a few seconds to transfer.

Call lists should work with Handsfree and rSAP. With rSAP calls made in the car are not transferred to the phone's call list, but calls made with the mobile are transferred to the car.

SMS work only in rSAP mode. There is also a small problem: SMS received in the car are stored on the SIM card. You can copy them manually into the Android SMS database. I once tried to write a plugin to fix that, but it seems to have a few bugs. See here: viewforum.php?f=53

Hi,
At least I have some doubts flashing my phone. I downloaded the file you posted the link, but I don't know how to do it. I found some explanation with other files (http://www.teamandroid.com/2013/07/25/u ... -firmware/) but I don't know, if it is the same file you recomended. Second the file you recomended is no .zip but the other one is, so does flashing work the same way with different file types???
Do you have any installation guide for the file you meant or is it always the same way?

Sorry, but I am a "newcomer"...

The link you mentioned describes how to install an OTA update manually. This will most probably not work on your phone, but you may try. Updates usually check if they are valid for the phone on which they are run and quit if not. So you can't break anything.

The Nexus firmware image is a reinstall of the whole firmware. As far as I remember the file contains a batch file that does all the work. Note that this will erase everything on your phone, including USB storage, so be sure to make backups of all important data, like pictures, etc.

For both you need to install the drivers on your PC.

Thanks for reply. USB drivers I guess are installed automatically by conecting the phone to the pc, aren't they? Well when connecting the phone, my pc recognices my GN. Are there other drivers that need to be installed?
But what I don't know is, what do I have to do on my pc while flashing and what to do on the phone. There is no description how to do it. I guess I have to find somebody who has already done this before...

Just copy and paste the file on the root folder on the phone - than start recovery mode?
flashing by computercontrol?

I am sorry for disturbing you with problems like this, but it's not so easy to find somebody who can help or to find a online guide/video... such as a step by step instruction (such as "Bootloader", "flashing process", etc.)
If you have any suggestens I'll be glad - I keep on searching!

Okay, yeahhh I did it. Going on 4.3, rooted! Was a hard way, but I did it.

So I tested my GN with VW-Premium. Same as before, until I installed phonebook-app. I have contacts a before, all in! Now I tried to install rSAP (trial) by installing the rSAP Istallation-App.

But nothing changed - how do I get on rSAP or Premium stautus. Your installation guide say something like "uninstall system files"... Do I understand right, that for using it, I must uninstall the app or so... Thats the part I still did not understand

Ok some details: rSAP (Trial) shows the following message after doing the superuser permission for the app: "bluetooth failure" (bluetooth fehler - in german) - means there can't be a connection... ???

any idea?

???

Did you try a reboot of the phone?

The system files must be installed, of course. The uninstall option is only needed when you want to install an OTA update. Since you won't get one for the Galaxy Nexus ( :( ) you don't need it.
