cannot reconnect to rSAP protocol with AOKP and AUDI A6

Post by htc1977 » Fri Jan 11, 2013 11:57 pm

Hello,
I had a "nearly working" connection with my AOKP-based Android 4.2.1 and my AUDI A6 with the rsap-protocol.
The only problem was, every second or third day my phone didn't connect anymore to my car without switching bluetooth off and on again. But after turning bluetooth on, the protocol was handsfree and not rsap and I had to manually switch to rsap again.
I thought it would be a good idea to delete all bluetooth-connections on my AUDI and on the phone and reconnect both again. This was a bad idea, everytime I try to connect my phone I only get this handsfree-protocol and I'm not possible to switch to rsap anymore.
I made some logs, but I don't find them on my phone to upload them here. Where are they?
Attached is a picture of my AUDI MMI showing to options to choose how to connect to my phone and a screenshot of the rsap-app :-(

I hope someone could help me getting a stable connection via rsap to my car again.

Best regards, Christian.

Perhaps this is also a problem of the new 4.2 Bluetooth stack. This affects Porsche and some Audis. It looks the problem only arises when trying to pair and it works as soon as the devices are paired. Then you may try to downgrade, pair und upgrade again.

I hope I can fix the 4.2 Bluetooth problem some day.

Me, too. Your apps - rSAP and Phonebook - are worth every penny, but only as long as they do their job ;)

Down- and upgrading is not very practicable as switching from Stock-ROM to AOKP-ROM with keeping all apps and data was nearly impossible. Even with Titanium Backup and using XML to convert to data not everything was working as expected.

Do you need some logs, btw. where are they stored?

I know what's going wrong. I only don't know how to fix it. It's currently impossible with Android 4.2 to create a proper Bluetooth "service discovery" record for a standard Bluetooth profile. Unluckily Audi seems to insist on a proper record so it doesn't accept my app.

Skoda "Premium" phones should not be affected by this problem. You may have a different issue!

Hi,
right, with your rsap app it works properly!
Thought I can drop it...;).

Good work! ;)

Cheers,
