JB 4.2.2 support planned?

Post by sheldor » Sat Aug 24, 2013 10:33 am

Hello,

Do you plan To support JB 4.2.2 with the dun Plugin?
I have a 4.2.2 rom and a kernel with integrated ppp async but don't get it to work. Are the bluetooth libs of 4.2.2 the problem? Would it make sense to try older Bluetooth libs?

My DUN plugin relies on the old BlueZ stack. I guess it will not be so easy to port it to Android >= 4.2. Try the free BlueVPN app from Play Store.

Thanks for your answer.
I tried bluevpn, it works, but your plugin can connect automatically. That's a big advantage.
It would be great to have it for android 4.2....
I think there quite a few people who could use this feature!

Hi,
i am using my Galaxy Tab 7.7 with Android 4.1.2 and it works fine with your android-rsap app and the VW FSE Premium of my Golf VI.
Also the DUN Plugin works without problems.
I also use a Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 but this is not as easy as my Galaxy tab:
The Galaxy S4 is using Android 4.2.2 and i can not use your great rsap app.
The connection between Galaxy S4 and VW FSE Premium is possible because the S4 support bluetooth rsap out of the box.
BUT:
If i want to use internet on the S4 while the phone is connected via rsap to the VW FSE Premium i need a DUN client.
Using blueVPN it is neccesary to esatblish the DUN connection every time manually.

Is there a possibility to get a DUN Connection which automaticaly start everytime bluetooth connection is established?

As far as I know there is no possibility to start a BlueVPN connection automatically.

After all now there is a far better (sadly more expensive) solution: replace your "Premium" box with the latest version (3C8 035 730D) - it includes a WiFi hotspot! I did this in my Golf 6, works perfect!

Hi Admin,
The new Version of the FSE Premium with WLAN is too expensive for me. Will there be a possibility that you port the Rsap APP an DUN Plugin for the S4?

The S4 does not use the BlueZ library, which my plugin heavily depends on. The easiest solution would be if the BlueVPN developer added a possibility to start a connection programmatically. I'll try to contact him.

I'm still struggling with disabling the built-in rSAP in the S4. When I get that done my app will work, it already does when you flash CyanogenMod.

I love your app since my first HTC HD2 flashed with android. I would really really appreciate if it would be compatibe to nes. Maybe some of the guy of xda-veleopers.com can help. If there is a perspective of succes i would make a donation to Support you too.
