Post by admin » Wed May 30, 2012 12:21 pm

Available Bluetooth profiles:
  • - Advanced Audio
    - AV Remote
    - Headset
    - OBEX Object Push
    - Phonebook Access
    - Handsfree
    - Network Access Point
    - Message Access
That's it

This evening I will try to find out if my rSAP app still works...

My app works!

Sadly the "easy" installation with the zip file does no longer work with the Galaxy S3. The phone must be "normally" rooted to install the rSAP system files.

The phonebook has the "usual" problems with the attributed email addresses. This will cause some work to fix...

Hmm, so this means any contact with an email address will not show/copy?

Thank you admin! You're brilliant :)

Not any contact with an email, but any contact with an email with an additional attribute, like "home" or "work".

Does it work in the same way as the Galaxy S1? I have just ordered an S3 and am worried if it will work properly with my MB SAP V2 kit.

With my app rSAP should work the same as in the Galaxy S. As far as I remember the SAP V2 does not support PBAP so there shouldn't be a change in the phonebook transfer.

Hello,
i plan to replace my Nokia N97. Galaxy III is the plan. :D

At the moment my N97 works perfect with my MB SAP V2 Bluetooths rSAP Dongle.

Phonebook and SMS are working. Will be this possible with the Gaalxy III and your App?

Or I have to stay with my old N97

greetings

With the SAP V2 phonebook transfer causes problems (as far as I remember from other posts). It does not use the now common PBAP but the older IrMC protocol. You will only have SIM contacts.

SMS should work, but without my soon-to-be-finished SMS plugin (viewtopic.php?f=15&t=56) you will have two separate SMS storages: one for the phone (internal memory) and one for the car (SIM card). I don't know how the N97 handles that.

Samsung phones and MB SAP sometimes have problems connecting because the SIM card is not properly resettet and the SAP module does not retry the reset (as other car kits do). I'm currently testing a special plugin which should solve that problem.

So it's not as smooth as with your Nokia... But the phone is much nicer!

Hi Admin,

I got my S3 today and once rooted and running your app is does indeed pair my Mercedes V2 RSAP module. :D

Edit: Seems it does work and I have bought the full version. Usefully it seesm the S3 does not connect to the Car from as far away as the S1. The S1 would connect when I was in the house and the car parked outside.
