S3 new firmware released, rsap included

Post by GsmProf » Thu Jul 12, 2012 12:54 am

Hi all

today i have flashed new S3 firmware I9300XXBLFB released for uk. Rsap is now included again and the app is not needed anymore. I have tested with my Passat ´07 with premium FSE and it works like a charm

This eliminates my question yesterday then! Is this new update officially available? Just to confirm, with your Passat, does the rSAP pairing disable the phone's network connection as it should, replacing it with a connection through the car, using the car's antenna etc?

Hmmmmm .... interesting discussion with Samsung in Ireland today. V3.5 (which is this weeks update of V3.0 XXBLFB) does not apparently support rSAP. Does this mean that your Passat is simply working better with Bluetooth or is it real rSAP?

It pairs with rsap. Network on phone is disabled. But i can see only simcontacts in premium-fse as before.

I have downloaded firmware and have flashed with odin, not with KIES. U can download firmware and flashprog from http://www.sammobile.com. U have to register there to download all needed things.

I can send u pics if u want, just contact me

Hi,

I've been watching this with interest as I am about to change my phone and want to achieve rsap integration with my Audi A6. Were you able to apply the firmware update without rooting the S3?

Thanks

Hugh

U don´t need root access to flash with odin a stock firmwareimage. A stock firmware is equal to that u would get as ota update, the only thing is u will flash it manually with odin. Odin is the flashing prog for service centers. The firmware i had downloaded is a 1 part firmware so u will not lost all your personal data and apps.

I can confirm that the UK XXBLFB contains native Samsung rSAP.

Hallo everybody,

I got today my brand new S3, which had already installed Android 4.0.4, Firmware IMM76D.I9300XXALF6. It should be a german version, because I bought it in germany and I'm living in germany. The problem is, it won't connect to my car (VW Tiguan 2008). The car says, that the phone is not compatible. And the phone says, it can't connect to the car.

I'm very new to Android and to Samsung phones, so please excuse my silly question: Do I have to switch on rSAP in my phone anywhere? But where? In the bluetooth menue I can't see a option for this.

Thank you and bye!

PS: Samsung KIES says, there is no newer firmware for my phone.

You have to wait until XXBLFB (or similar) is available in Germany. Of course you can use my app until then ;)
