Just changed my phone to a Nexus 6p with Android 7 installed. App no longer works. Is this a compatibility issue and is there anything I can do about it?

What exactly doesn't work?

I have had this app on numerous phones and have updated to the Pro version.
I currently run a Vauxhall Meriva and have never had a problem with the phonebook.
However I recently changed my phone to a Nexus 6p, which is running Android version 7.
Now the app is not working in the car.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success and was wondering if the Andoid version was at fault.

Does the app show "connected"? Does it transfer any contacts or no contacts at all? Did it work with the same car and a different phone?

Yes it worked on a previous phone with Android 5. This one has Android 7.
When I go onto the car system and click on 'Phonebook' it says 'No Numbers'
On the previous phone my phonebook displayed in full showing every number on my phone.

The actual wording on the car's screen reads
'No phonebook available'

What does the app show? "Connected" or "ready"?

Where do I look to see this info?
It's not on the car screen.

You do use my phonebook app? Simply start it and check the state.
