Only 1 phone number per contact is transferred with MB SAPv3

Post by sorenkris » Mon Jan 21, 2013 7:43 pm

On many of my contacts I have multiple numbers stored (Home, Work, Mobile etc)
But when I sync the contacts on the phone with my carkit I only get one number registered per contact. The registered contact in the car gets a letter suffix'ed to indicate the type of number (W, H etc) but still only one registration.

Is this how it is supposed to work?

I am using the MB Sap V3 cradle and PBAP (I have disabled IrMC in the app)

Kind regards
Soren

Technically the Phonebook Transfer Profile can transfer several numbers per contact. Maybe the SAP module uses only the first entry? If you create an HCI log with rSAP or HCI logger app (needs root) I can check if there is another problem.

Do other SAP V3 users have the same problem?

Hello,

no I have haven't. My SGS III transfers multiple numbers which are stored e.g. mobile, fixed, fax, etc. to my rSAP V3 Module. Everything works as expected. The only problem is, that the Street Adress could not be used for navigation in the comand system from Mercedes.

Thank you for the reply, I guess there is hope then :-)

I can't seem to create the HCI log, but the log file that is created is sent to admin via email.

Best Regards

I already sent you a mail:

The data does contain more than one phone number for some entries, so it does not look like a problem with Android. You may try to remove the phone number's attribute, like 'cell' or 'work', for one contact. Perhaps this helps?

I'm testing Samsung Galaxy S3 mini on my MB w211 that uses SAP v2 and phonebook list isn't transfered.

Only contact located in SIM card are transfered but I only load contacts on phone not in SIM card.

When I used my old Nokia, I have to dial 0000 in oder to transfer contacts from phone to Comand (car). It took at least 5 or 6 minutes and all numbers linked to same contact were transfered (name/w /h /m. For work, home mobile, etc).

Now, I've tested:
1) Not adittional app, it does't work. Even more If I dial 0000, nothing.
2) I've installed phonebook apps and same result: It doesn't work.

Do you have any idea?

I'm using apps in testing mode because if phonebook can't be transfered, It isn't usefull for me.

Can you give me a hint what happens when you dial 0000 on your Nokia? What is this called in the Nokia documentation?

I checked again: The MB SAP V2 does not support any common Bluetooth phonebook profile and only reads SIM contacts via rSAP.

SAP v2 needs that "0000" is dialed in Comand (no phone) after to link thorught bluetooth.
After that phone receives that "code" and send all contacts to Comand.
In case of not do it, Comand keeps contacts transferred in last syncronization, but not last added.

That information is in Comand bluetooth SAP v2 manual and it is generic for all mobiles.
http://www.mercupgrades.com/manuals/cra ... manual.pdf

As contacts were transferred using your sw, I tried to do using traditional method od Comand.

Now I understand the 0000 code. I thought it was a special Nokia function. Did the Nokia transfer phone contacts or only SIM contacts? I still think the SAP V2 is only able to read SIM contacts, but perhaps I'm wrong.
