Some phones offer the IrMC phonebook transfer via the FTP profile. Maybe it helps if you don't allow FTP access?

With the latest phonebook app I now managed to get logfiles (earlier version just created empty "0 bytes" logfiles).
The first logfile starts after the 997D got the rSAP request from my Nokia 616.
I confirmed the rSAP connection on the phone and I started a phonebook transfer (phone and SIM memory).
For the transfer the 997D showed a bluetooth FTP request which I accepted.
After a few seconds the Nokia showed a "general error downloading" and I stopped the logging.
During the second logfile I tried just a phonebook transfer, now with the Nokia just configured for phone memory, which also failed with the same error.

Sorry for the long delay... It looks like the Nokia does not address the IrMC profile of my app. I guess it first tries to read the phonebook over the FTP profile, which seems to be implemented in the MTK phones, but does not support phonebook access. If possible, try to deny FTP access, maybe the 616 will then use the IrMC profile.

If I disable the FTP server on the phone I just get a phonebook download failed error.
But I could try to create a log with this failure...

I guess the 616 still doesn't talk to the IrMC profile of my app, so the log will be empty again. Maybe the HCI logger app works on your phone? Although I don’t think so.

I have a "last connected" entry from the 616 under IrMC from some time ago, but at that time the phone connection was just handsfree and not rSAP.

The 616 for sure uses IrMC for phonebook transfer in rSAP mode. I tested that several times with my 616. Maybe you have a different setting which contacts should be transferred (SIM/phone memory) for HFP and rSAP?

In viewtopic.php?p=6099#p6099 I have logfiles for both settings, sim+phone memory and only phone memory.
