Any updates on this One X+ question?

I have a Nexus4 (CM10.1) as my regular phone, but I could swap it for a OneX+ (which still needs to be unlocked, rooted, ROM'd, etc)... but given the hassles I'm having with rSAP on my Nexus, it is a consideration!

Okay, back on the HOX+, rooted with Android Revolution HD, but struggling with rSAP... can't even work out if I'm supposed to pick native / generic / other?

I've not tried the Audi / data patches... just on the vanila install for now, but I can't even seem to get the MMI to see it as a CarPhone :( **sob sob**

I have tried to connect to my VW UHV PREM several times, but somethibg failed. I have installed Bluetooth SIM Access Install and Bluetooth SIM Access (Trial). I get so far that VWPrem found my phone and I wrote in the code (16 numbers). Then the display just show Connecting... and nothing happens. When I tried to root my phone the messages just show Installation failed. Null. What did I do wrong? Please help.

I guess your phone is not properly "rooted". Please test with a root check app from Google Play Store. If you need to root your phone, search the internet for instructions how to do it. Maybe there is a "Hasoon2000 toolkit" available for the One X+.

Martin, I thought you'd pretty much established that the Broadcom stack on any HTC version of of the One X+ was completely incompatible with your software?

If anybody has a HTC compatible ROM which is able to give rSAP functionality, I'd love to hear about it, otherwise I'm getting a Samsung S4 (or S4 mini) which if they're the same as the S3, then they have out-the-box rSAP support and no need for any applications... real shame since the HTC hardware is lovely (and fast!) and the media link is really nice too!

You got me wrong: the Broadcom stack works fine with my software, but some car phones like Audi's cannot recognize the rSAP profile when the phone uses the Broadcom stack (old or new). VWs happily connect with any Bluetooth stack. It's not Broadcom's fault, not really Audi's fault (they stick strictly to the spec, although they could as well be as fault tolerant as VW), but only a problem that Google forgot some important Bluetooth API functions. With the BlueZ Bluetooth stack there is a workaround to fix this problem.

As I already said many times: Audis are really picky if it comes to rSAP. They only work with a perfect counterpart, while VWs happily accept anything that works somehow.

has anyone got any further with their testing on the HTC One X+

I would like to buy one, but have an 2012 Audi A6 with Bluetooth High so need rSAP capabilities.

As an iPhone owner looking to 'upgrade' to Android, the HTC looks pretty good!

I don't think the HTC One X+ will ever work with the new Audis - at least for data. You may consider the HTC One. Although there are reports that it does not work with an Audi, I'm quite sure that this is the exception. The HTC One allows full access to the SIM card.
