SIM CARD CRASH

Post by seanh » Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:56 pm

I have eventually rooted my Samsung S3 mini GT-I8190. App installed OK, I am using the full version.

Whilst the car (Mercedes SAP V3) syncs OK etc I am getting a Sim Crash message each time.

Any ideas to fix this problem so I can get the phone working properly?

Many thanks
Sean

Just to provide some extra info.

When pairing to the car all goes as expected, phone shows in the list, put in the long PIN and then a sound is played to confirm.

I did have the SIM PIN protected. Removing this PIN lock does not fix the problem.

rSAP V2.2 screen shows Bluetooth State- Connected, SIM State- (this is where the error happens) = SIM card crash

What do you mean with "SIM CARD CRASH"? Is there a message on the mobile? Does the phone reboot?

The phone connects to the car and appears to sync OK. The app plays a sound to confirm it has connected.

Then the phone displays a message on screen - SIM CARD CRASH Contact your operator. At no point does my cars screen show that the phone and SIM are connected sufficiently for a call to me made (ie does not show O2 UK)

This error makes the phone unusable which then has to be rebooted to work as normal unconnected.

This happens each time and the outcome is the same with each unit having been turned off/on etc

Any ideas please?

I've never seen such a message

Can you please double check if you used the special S III Mini system files in the rSAP installer app? Simply touch "update/install" again.

Yes, I have used the special S III Mini system files.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled and also re-connected with bluetooth. (no errors)

Now the car connects to the phone/app and the app plays a sound to confirm.

On phone screen the section:

SIM State moves from Normal Phone Operation through to SIM Access? (goes really quickly) This operation fails and the bluetooth connection is dropped and SIM State goes back to Normal Phone Operation, Bluetooth State - Not connected

Can you please mail me a "main" log of a connection attempt?

Will do.
I can see where to turn the logs 'on'.
Can you advise how and where I access the logs. I have a new phone with no extra memory cards inserted

Thanks

The logs will be stored in the "USB memory". You should see the folder ".rsap" when you connect the phone to your PC.

Thanks
There does not appear to be a .rsap folder on my phone? Screenshot attached
I still have USB debugging turned on and the app is set to create log
