Nexus 4 with Phonebook on Android 4.3

Post by rudolf5 » Fri Sep 06, 2013 5:27 pm

Hi,

my Nexus 4 runs on Android v4.3 and I didn't change the firmware. I bought your Bluetooth Access Sim Profile and everything works fine with my Skoda Superb, except the fact, that i can't see my Contacts saved on my mobile phone. If I select "SIM & Mobile Phone" in my car for the phonebook, it lists just a lot of numbers from the SIM (like taxi, information etc.).

I already downloaded your Phonebook-Test App and as the descriptions says, i connected the phone to my car via bluetooth and gave the car no permission to take contacts from my phone. Nothing happens, my Skoda says "Failed".
Even after giving permission it takes just the numbers of my SIM-Card and not one from my Mobile Phone.

What to do now? I would buy your Phonebook App, but just if I know that everything will work fine.

Thank you for your support.

Rudolf

PS: My mother tongue is german but i think it's better to write in english so other people can read this too. :)

The test app does not implement the more important "Phonebook Access Profile", I should change that some day...

I cannot promise that it will work for you, I only know that the Google phonebook implementation still has a lot of bugs in version 4.3, especially with VW devices. If it doesn't work let me know.

Okay, so I bought your Phonebook App too. I connected to the car and after pressing Refresh in my car to get the mobile phone numbers of my phonebook, nothing happens. The request to give the car the right to take control of the phonebook doesn't show as well.

No idea what to do? :(

My app does not ask for access rights, it's too easy to miss it. Does my app show a "last connected" state under PBAP or IrMC?

Yes it shows this message under both IrMC and PBAP. When I refresh the numbers in the car, these messages refreshes too to thr new time (e.g. 15:16:37 to 15:16:51).

Do you sync your contacts with Google or something else, like MyPhoneExplorer? Can I mail you a test version of the app?
