I guess this is the quite common problem of the SAP V3 with some Android Bluetooth stacks. I already saw HCI logs where the same phone worked with one ROM but did not work with another. I don't have any explanation for this. I can only recommend that you upgrade to a SAP V4, since I never heard of problems with it. They are available on eBay for a bit over 100€.

Well, it suprises me that the M8 should have a different BT Stack than the M7.
Are you shure about that?

I will try to catch a SAPV4 cradle to test it.

I don't even know if it's always the same reason when the connection doesn't work. It's most probably something in the lower Bluetooth layers.

I only know that many V3 users have problems, but so far no V4 users.

Hi!

Unfortunately I had to experience the same thing with my m8 and the Mercedes sap v3 cradle. The m8 runs android 5.01 newest 4.16.401.10 firmware. Tried native rsap and your app multiple times. The phones shows successful pairing, while the car doesn't. I happen to been able to connect my new one m9 (android 5.02) with native rsap like a charm. It's really bothering me, because my dad needs his m8 connected to the cars Bluetooth system. One M7 on android 4.44 worked perfectly with your app before as well. The M8 is rooted. I hope I can help to find a solution somehow.

Greetings sinisjekkt

The easiest solution is to get a SAP V4. They are available for 100-150€ at eBay. If you sell the V3 you should get about 100€, that makes less than 50€ for a working car phone.

Well, I am able to confirm, that the SAPV4 cradle solves the connection issue with HTC M8 (currently CM12.1).
With cradle SAPV3 only HTC M7 works fine.
