Sense 6.0 ROM problems

Post by admin » Fri Mar 28, 2014 2:59 pm

The mentioned ROM has a problem with my rSAP app. After running the installer it is no longer possible to switch on Bluetooth.

The reason is that somebody (HTC?) added a superfluous file:
/system/lib/hw/bluetooth.default.so

Please rename (or even delete) it.

It looks like the bluetooth.default.so is used by the new HTC One (m8). The ROM builders didn't remove it when they added the m7 files to the m8 ROM

Hi,
if I understand correctly this extra file would mean that the M8 won't be compatible with your app: am I right?
If so is there a workaround? I'm very interested in this topic because I'm waiting to get the M8 until I'm sure I'll be able to use it with your app.

Thanks

No, it doesn't mean that. Short explanation: the Bluetooth driver in compatible phones has either the name bluetooth.default.so or bplus.default.so. For the m7 it is bplus.default.so, for the m8 bluetooth.default.so. My software was confused because both files were present and picked the wrong one

But it also doesn't mean my app will surely work on the m8. Someone will have to try...

Thanks for the explanation: as long there's only one of those two files, the application should pick it up correctly, then.

Of course it remain to be seen if apart from this, the M8 will be compatible with your app: I'll lstay tuned and wait if any user will report anything: at the moment I am a bit reluctant to try and be a guinea pig
