LG G2

Post by jmf » Wed Oct 09, 2013 12:03 am

Hello,

do you plan to support new LG's flagship - G2?

I'm currently considering buying it, but it doesn't seem to have built-in rSAP functionality, which is a deal breaker for me.

Yes, I'm interested in the LG G2 too.... and of course I need information on the rsap compatibility. Would be good if someone has the chance to test it...

There is an old hint - to go to bluetooth.org and check it ;)
There are two new LG models claimed to support rsap - d802 & d805. Looks like both are G2, I don't know what's the difference between them. But the best way for sure is to try to establish connection to the car :)

I also heard that the G2 supports rSAP out of the box. But so far nobody confirmed it.

How reliable is bluetooth.org database?

They indeed list LG G2 as SAP compatible:

https://www.bluetooth.org/tpg/QLI_viewQDL.cfm?qid=21417

But LG support says otherwise - I've contacted them and they claim SAP is not among G2's Bluetooth Profiles.

All info about profiles from samsung seems to be true, let's hope it's not different with lg. G2 profiles were listed by lg's employee, i think it's possible to ask for approval, there is an e-mail on the listing page.

Are there any news regarding rSAP compatibility of G2? Did anybody try it? Most spec sheets and comparison tables on the Internet do not list the SAP profile. I wonder if this app would run.

Thanks for updating

So far every piece of evidence seems to suggest that LG G2 doesn't support SAP.

The only exception is the notorious Bluetooth.org database. I've sent e-mail to person from LG who created the entry, but haven't got any answer.

I'm afraid we will have to try and find out for ourselves. ;)

Hm, it doesn't look the G2 is an option for VW driver with Premium car kit :( Particularly this app here probably doesn't work too. There are no native LG phones on the compatibility list. Don't know if the G2 differs in terms of bluetooth architecture.

@jmf: Please post the reply from LG if there is any...

I guess there is a high probability that my app will work in case there is no rSAP included in the stock ROM. The Nexus 5 has a very similar configuration and works. The only problem of course is that you have to root your phone.

So someone will have to try...
