Updating CyanogenMod 12.1 hlte causes high CPU load

Post by odoll » Wed Jul 22, 2015 5:43 pm

Sry I'm back ;-)

Since whenever I tried to update the CM12.1 version on my Note 3 I ran into the issue, that after some time the phone became unstable.

As you can read in this thread http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/111893-severe-issue-with-121-nightly-20150512-hlte/ I think I at least could identify the process /system/bin/sdptool as the "nauty guy".

As mentioned with my last post this morning http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/111893-severe-issue-with-121-nightly-20150512-hlte/#entry528714 I think I fixed it, but I didn't.

Would you think the issue could be related to your app, as it doesn't "like" to be "updated"?

There was an issue with sdptool, but I thought I fixed it... Please uninstall the rSAP app or clear it's memory, make sure Bluetooth is on and reinstall/restart the rSAP app. If nothing else helps simply delete the sdptool file. As far as I found out this is only a diagnosis tool and not necessary for Android to work properly.

Thanks for the hint, but unless you didn't release a newer (fixed?) version, I'll stick to my IMO working workaround to update nightlies:

backup running system
remove rSAP app
perform Android / CM update
reinstall rSAP app

as with this I at least could update from 2015012 to 20150720 nightly

@admin: just to let you know, I have the same issue as @odoll above.
I'm using your wonderfull app (v2.5.4) on a Galaxy S2, running the latest CM12.1 nightlies.
Every few days my phone is hot and the battery drains fast. When I'm not too late, I can still open CPU Monitor, and see that system/bin/sdptool gives 100% cpu load on one core (50% total cpu load). A reboot fixes the problem, for a few days...

For now I interpreted your "fix" from a few posts above as follows:
- Switched off bluetooth.
- Settings - apps - all, stopped rsap app and cleared its data.
- Switched BT on
- Turned rsap back on (and fixed my settings, which is only the "keep awake" setting).

I'll report back in a week or so.

The best solution is still to delete or rename sdptool. As far as I know it's not used.
