Had my shiny new Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 turn up yesterday, it came with Android 6.0.1 and paired with my car no problem, all working well with native RSAP support, no app needed.
Then it started prompting me that a security update was available, I foolishly installed it, now the phone will not pair with my car. I can pair it and enter the passcode, then it says "no compatible phone found." You can see "remote SIM mode activate" pop up on the phone but after 1-2 seconds it then says "remote SIM mode deactivated".
This is really frustrating! The phone says it is running Android security patch level "1 November 2016". Checking the security bulletin here https://source.android.com/security/bul ... 11-01.html
it does look like a couple of Bluetooth vulnerabilities have been patched, I wonder if these have affect the RSAP feature.
I enabled HCI snooping and saw some errors about maximum message size not supported, maybe this is the problem? Log file attached.
Anyone got any ideas?
