Hi i have a samsung galaxy s5. Im having trouble getting my phonebook to upload to my car. It is a 2009 skoda superb with the columbus head unit (vw rn510) which in rsap only. I can connect to the car fine recive texts, make and recive calls, by xialing manually, but i can't get the phonebook to work atal even with the paid version of your bluetooth app, the phone is not root'd.
I have what i think are the logs i read some where you can some times use to sort out problems. Hope some one can help. Thanks

Did you try the phonebook or SIM access app? The phonebook should help - as the name suggests. Does the phonebook app show "connected" or only "ready" below PBAP?

I have tried the trial version of the sim access but it said the phone needed to be rooted and a file is not installed correctly. I have the paid version of the phonebook app but if just shows ready. I even deleted all connection from the car and phone and reconnected with the app open and tried to manualy upload contacts through the car with the app open. but still just showing ready

There are two possibilities: either your car does not use the Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) for contact transfer (unlikely for a VW/Skoda "Premium" phone), or for whatever reason my app cannot replace the built-in PBAP implementation.

Does the phone ask for permission to access the contacts after Bluetooth pairing? Can you please create a "HCI Snoop" log from within Android developer settings and mail it to admin at ...? In case you don't have the developer menu in settings please tap 7 times on the build number.

Hi, i have emailed you the files i think you wanted and have also attached a link to a list of all VAG Bluetooth modules and capabilities, you may already be aware of the list but if not you may find it useful to troubleshoot problems, i have a 3c0_035_730, thanks

Also no the phone does does not ask permission to access the phone book, it only asked for access to the SIM

As far as I know the 3C0 does not support PBAP, but may support the IrMC profile which my phonebook app also supports. I'll check that in the HCI log. The 3C0 is the only major variant I don't (yet) own, so I can't check it myself.

I checked your log. The car queries for both profiles, PBAP and IrMC, but doesn't create a connection to either of them. I don't have any idea why. Did you already try to delete the phone in the car and do a fresh Bluetooth pairing?

Is this really a 3C0... or is it a 3C8...?

Sorry my fault it is a 3c8 035 730 i was thinking of another car i looked at at work. And yes i have deleted the pairing from the car and the phone and paired fresh a few times with no luck. With the app opend, closed, deleted all together and then a few times again with it re instaled again.

If it is a case of just upgrading the unit then that should not be a problem as i have found the latest module for sale to upgrade to include wifi and music streaming. Coding if required is not a problem as i am a mechanic and have accese to vcds and several other diagnostic computers if needed as thata the route i was going with my previous phone just to get hands free. But now i have the s5 with rsap and it all working exept the phonebook it would save alot of money if it was something simple, or even the phone
