Moto G out the box SAP support?

Has anybody tried the Moto G WITHOUT the rSAP for Android App? i.e. is rSAP supported out the box?

I don't mind the idea of rooting my phone and hacking it in (I'd prefer a rooted phone), but more important than root is native rSAP support, so I'd like to know if this is supported out the box as it is with the Samsung Galaxy series - to this day, my old Nokia X3 and Samsung Galaxies (S2, S3, S4) are the only phone to pair immediately and work with full data support, but sadly the S3 and S4 are not my phones :(

I just ask because I wasted a lot of time and effort (as did the poor site admin!!) while trying to get the rSAP working on my 2012 spec Audi MMI unit with my Nexus 4 and HTC One X+ (note One X PLUS - which is different from the other One X's :( )....

Doesn't look like it works out of the box: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=1153

It would have been a big surprise because Motorola never supported rSAP, in contrast to LG.

Now I got my own Moto G and can confirm that it does not support rSAP out of the box. My app currently does not work either, I hope I can change that...

Hi,
I got a moto g (2 gen) with lollipop (5.0.2).
I tried the trial app and it was running perfectly. Now, with the full version the contacts images won't show. I've tried to unpair and pair again but the problem is still there. Any idea?

What app did you try, phonebook? Please check if you accidently activated the "no pictures" option in the app's extended settings.

So you are saying that your G2 does work with this app and you can rSAP-connect to your car? There was another post stating that it does not work. I really would like to know it as I plan to replace a Samsung S3 mini with another rSAP compatible phone.

Cheers!

Update: Moto G 1st Gen is now compatible, Gen 2 + 3 are most probably compatible!
