How about Moto G (2. Generation)

Post by zeitwesen » Thu Nov 13, 2014 12:50 am

Hi,

Just bought a Moto G 2. Generation / second Generation / 2014 and kindly ask you if you know anything of its compatibility with your rsap app. I have a VW and it does not work out-of-the-box.

I frankly don't know, but I'm quite sure that it will not work. However, if you plan to root your phone anyway, simply test with the trial version.

At least the Nexus 4 and 5 don't have rSAP in Lollipop. Google didn't even re-enable the rSAP functions in the baseband software of the Nexus 5.

Update: Moto G 1st Gen is now compatible, Gen 2 + 3 are most probably compatible!

Hello,

I have the Moto G (2014 / 2.Gen) using 2 SIM cards and a Skoda Superb with a Amundsen and a so called premium fse 3C8...E.

I tested this App (trial version) with partial success.

In general it works as expected. It takes the first SIM card, which is in my case the appreciated behaviour. And it works in rsap mode.

The issue is that the connection status is not coming back after switching off the car/FSE. Swithcing on/off the airplane mode seems not to help. Only a reboot had been reestablished the GSM connection.

Another issue was that one time the rsap app could not get the access of the SIM card. A reboot was required to get access again. Is this an issue of the trial version?

Question: Is there any possibility to get the connection back automatically? Otherwise it is not very useful, if a reboot is required after each car disconnect.

Is it planned to have kind of "SIM select" for Multi Sim phones?

Thanks & Br,
Matthias

This is definitely not a "feature" of the trial version. I guess I'll have to get me a Moto G to check what's happening.

So far I did not see a Qualcomm based dual SIM phone where I could successfully select the second SIM card for rSAP. Maybe it works with the Moto G...?

Moin,

would be cool if you can find the issue. If I can do/test anything with my Moto G, please tell me (except send it to you ;-)).

I think this device is quite popular....

Regards,
Matthias
